TRANSMISSION WATER MAIN REPLACEMENT - Phase I
Background
The Fair Oaks Water District (FOWD) plans to install 3,300 feet of new 24-inch ductile iron pipe in portions of Blue Oak Drive, Madison Avenue, and Winding Oak Drive to replace its existing transmission main. The existing transmission main was originally constructed in 1933 and has reached the end of its serviceable life.
What to Expect
Construction activity will begin with heavy equipment and materials appearing at the site, highlighted in red on the map below, in June of 2025. At times FOWD’s contractor may need to close access to sections of Blue Oak Drive, Madison Avenue, Winding Oak Drive, and the Rollingwood Condominium Complex for the safety of the public and their staff. Construction may cause unavoidable short-term inconvenience to residents and businesses in the immediate vicinity. The FOWD will attempt to provide 48-hour notice to anyone that will have an interruption in their water service. Work will generally occur from 8 am – 4:30 pm weekdays. Construction is estimated to take approximately 20 weeks. We appreciate your understanding as we make these improvements.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
