On October 10, 2025, attorney and Fair Oaks resident Theodore Wolter of Klinedinst PC notified the Fair Oaks Water District (FOWD) that the lawsuit filed by Leon Corcos had been dismissed. “We always believed Mr. Corcos’s lawsuit had no legal basis. That Mr. Corcos dismissed his lawsuit, rather than substantively oppose the FOWD’s motion to dismiss, suggests Mr. Corcos agreed with our assessment. We are pleased that FOWD ratepayers will not incur further legal fees to fight this baseless litigation” stated Mr. Wolter.
“The mission of the FOWD is related to water, but we also strive to be a positive asset to the Fair Oaks Village, where we have operated for over one hundred years. We will leave it up to the entire community of Fair Oaks to make their own decisions on our performance,” stated FOWD General Manager Tom Gray.
Despite these challenges, FOWD continues to provide reliable water service at the lowest rates in the Sacramento region and will continue to do so in 2026.
The lawsuit is identified as Sacramento Superior Court Case Number 25WM000050.
