Misha Sarkovich is the director representing Fair Oaks Water District Division 5 and was first elected to the board in 2004. Before retiring in 2016, Mr. Sarkovich was a project manager with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, his responsibilities for SMUD included demand side management programs, such the Cool Roof, Shade Tree, and Power Protection Services. Past responsibilities include performing financial impact and process evaluations, load research, statistical and cost effectiveness analysis, and market research to support development of new energy products and services. Mr. Sarkovich earned a Ph.D. in economics in 1985 from Florida State University, Tallahassee, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from California State University, Sacramento (1980 and 1979).
