Misha Sarkovich is the director representing Fair Oaks Water District (FOWD) Division 5 and was first elected to the board in November 2004. Before retiring in 2016, Mr. Sarkovich was a project manager with the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, his responsibilities for SMUD included managing demand side management programs, performing financial impact and process evaluations, load research, statistical and cost-effectiveness analysis, and market research. Before being elected to the FOWD Board, Mr. Sarkovich served 12 years on the Board of Fair Oaks Recreation and Parks District (FORPD). Mr. Sarkovich and his wife Kim have been long-term residents of Fair Oaks since 1990, where they have raised two sons. Mr. Sarkovich has been a Fair Oaks Rotary Club member since 2017. Mr. Sarkovich earned a Ph.D. in economics in 1985 from Florida State University, Tallahassee, and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in economics from California State University, Sacramento (1979 and 1980).
