Pavement Patches
Perhaps you have noticed our TEMPORARY pavement patches.  When working during the Winter, the wet weather often makes it tough for the pavement patches to set properly.  But please don’t worry – the Fair Oaks Water District (FOWD) has no intention of leaving the streets in your neighborhood in disrepair! When our weather warms up, the FOWD will have crews out in your neighborhood as soon as possible applying permanent patches to your streets.  If you have questions, regarding work pavement patchwork in your area, please feel free to contact us.

‘Heather Well’ Groundwater Storage and Extraction Facility Upgrade
Recently, the existing “Heather Well” was successfully destroyed (as planned), and then filled with concrete mix to prevent any potential ground contamination. Fair Oaks Water District Contractor, Layne Christensen, has since installed the first portion of the conductor casing to the depth of 34 feet.  The next step for the Heather Well upgrade is to move and assemble a drilling rig on the site, and start the drilling operation.  Layne Christensen has delivered and assembled the equipment, and is now in the drilling process.

‘Town Well’ Groundwater Storage and Extraction Facility Upgrade
The existing “Town Well” was destroyed on April 7, 2006; and also filled with concrete, to prevent potential contamination. The contractor has now started moving equipment to this site to begin the next steps of the upgrade process.

North Winding Way Water Main Replacement
The Fair Oaks Water District issued a contract to Rawles Engineering Inc. of Folsom to replace approximately 1,800 linear feet of eight-inch water main with 12-inch pipe. Although installation is requiring the closing of a portion of North Winding Way, our Contactor is making all efforts to accommodate local traffic during the day and open the road after regular working hours.
